Biography

William James Underwood was born on 16 Jul 1875 in Leon Co., Texas to Joseph Marion Underwood and Mary (Powers) Underwood.

He married Mary Daisy Smyers on 16 September 1894 in Comanche Co., Texas. [1]

Together they became the parents of Mary E. Underwood, Zelma Quincy (Underwood) Williams, and Joseph Quinton Underwood. Circa 1904 they were in Arizona where Wilma Irene (Underwood) Wilson was born.

They returned to Texas by 1910 [2] and there William James "Jim" Underwood, Jr. and Margaret (Underwood) Fisher were born.

James passed away on 3 March 1964 and was buried at Andrews County Cemetery in Andrews, Texas. [3]
