DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jonathan by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
The attached source and the underlying records show that Jonathan married Hannah Richardson, not Hannah Wright. In the administration of the estate of John Underwood (d Dec 1755), his widow Hannah, is shown to have remarried to Samuel Read by 1760. Since the record is pretty clear I'm going to disconnect Hannah (Wright) (Underwood) Read and so Jonathan can be connected to the correct Hannah.
Thanks for the comment. I will check on this a bit and then get back to the issue of the merge. It is a bit messy with the duplication or recycling of names. Makes tracking people down a bit difficult.
I think the merge already happened. But I removed the marriage with Jonathan. I think all is good now on that end, just now the two duplicate sons Jonathan needs to be resolved. I left a comment on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Underwood-5755. One of the Jonathan's needs to be moved to another Underwood line.
