Biography
- According to "The Giles Family of Cumberland County Nova Scotia: Thomas Giles 1772-1851 and Nancy Willis Giles 1775-1845 and Their Descendants" (2001) by great-great grandson Edwin Glennie Giles, Jr. (1944-2002), Thomas Giles and Nancy Willis came to Nova Scotia in 1819 from Ireland. Nancy was from Scotland. Thomas spent nearly 20 years in Ireland before leaving for Nova Scotia. Nancy was a widow of Evans before marrying Thomas Giles. In some records, Nancy is referred to as Agnes.[1]
