Hicks for a surname is used principally as a placeholder - another Presley researcher used Hicks and yet another used Ricks. Elendar's mother in law was a Ricks, so that seems unlikely.
In the 1850 census Ellender (age 45) was in Conecuh, Alabama, United States.[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ellendar by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ellendar:
Jim, was Ellendars last name at birth Hicks? If so, then this belongs in the last name at birth instead of Unk. Of her last name at birth is unknown, then change the lnab to Unknown as the abbreviation Unk does not follow WikiTrees style guide.
Could you please take a moment to change the LNAB to “Unknown”. We would really appreciate this contribution to our collaborative WikiTree.
Thank you.
