Biography

Francis Eaton, his wife Sarah, and their infant son Samuel traveled together on the Mayflower. Sarah died the first winter 1620/1621 in the "general sickness" that befell the passengers. Her son Samuel married and had children.[1]

No records have been found to identify the first wife of Francis Eaton, other than her given name of Sarah.

Leiden?

Francis Eaton and wife Sarah do not appear in any record at Leiden, but he is among the group of Leiden church members on Bradford's list of Mayflower passengers. If Francis was at Leiden, this would explain why his marriage to Sarah and the birth of son Samuel are not found in Bristol records.[2]

Source 2 is two different sources. Source 3 is two different sources. The eighth unnumbered source is unnecessary but has a better citation for Source 3. The ninth unnumbered source is junk. 3 other unnumbered sources look dubious.

Thank you. Source two was a little misleading, because it had two different vol and pages, probably cut and pasted from something else. It's been fixed. However source three is fine - Anderson's "Pilgrim Migration" and there is no other citation for it on the page. As far as the not so reliable sources: There are some people on Wikitree that believe we should leave all the sources on a profile, even the not so good ones, and in the case of Find a Grave, which is pretty useless as a source, leaving it on the profile, means someone won't come along and add it again after we've removed it.

Since the term "Colonial America" was not used at the time, should the place of death instead be either "Plymouth, Plymouth Colony" or "Plymouth, Plymouth Colony, New England"?
posted by Chase Ashley
Agreed, death location changed as suggested.

Marked it as a false suggestion as FAG is unsourced.

She is popularly thought to be Sarah Morton, but apparently evidence for that is not solid.
