Elizabeth Henby (or Henly, etc.) is often seen in family trees as the wife of Henry Lamb. This is not proven and the birth name of Henry's wife Elizabeth is unknown. In Marshall Styles' book (source: #S20) on the descendants of Elizabeth and Henry Lamb he shows no known parents for Elizabeth. The lone official record I have found is for the purported parents' marriage and does not even support them having a daughter named Elizabeth (source: #S22). The source for her as their daughter is a user-submitted record which gives no source for this information.
Maiden Name and Parents: I have removed all references to Elizabeth's maiden name and her parents because there appears to be no documented evidence of either. Many user submitted trees give her name as Henby, Henly, Henley, Hanley, Hanbey, and occasionally Newby. Most of those trees provide no sources for these names or her parents. The following quote is from page 15 of Marshall Styles' book on Henry, Elizabeth and their descendants:
"The maiden name of Elizabeth is disputed by many, and I doubt there is anyone who can document who and when a connection was first made that her maiden name was Henley, or perhaps Henby, as some suggest. There is also much dispute as to whether Elizabeth was Henry's only, or second, wife. Some researchers place Henry's first marriage to a lady whose name was Gulielma, or something of the sort. Again, there appears to be no documentation of this, other than in personal computer files, notebooks and filing cabinets scattered and proliferating across the continent, all of which make it increasingly more difficult to refute the unsubstantiated. Further, there are virtually no descendants of Henry who bear the name of Gulielma... What it boils down to is that the Quaker records identify Henry as having a wife whose name is Elizabeth."
Birthplace: Similarly, I have seen no evidence for Elizabeth's birthplace. From the Quaker records, it is known they were members of the Nansemond Meeting in Virginia and transferred to the Perquimans Meeting in North Carolina. That Elizabeth was born in Nansemond County (today, the independent city of Suffolk) is an assumption based on that. If someone has solid evidence otherwise, I'd love to see it.
Marriage: Their place of marriage is also an assumption based on their known membership in the Nansemond meeting. I have not seen a record of their marriage, but it was supposedly around 1723.
Place of Death: Her death in Rowan County was reported by the meeting in Guilford County, and I suspect that is where the confusion arose, with some trees showing Guilford County as place of death. Rowan and Guilford counties are currently about 30 miles (50 km) apart, separated by Davidson County, but Davidson County was formed from a part of Rowan County in 1822, so Rowan and Guilford counties bordered one another in Elizabeth's lifetime.
From Styles, p. 23: "She died on 13 Sep 1774 in St Lukes Parish, Rowan, NC. Her death was reported by the Quakers of Guilford County in the Center Monthly Meeting; Hinshaw, Vol I, NC, p. 660."
The Center Monthly Meeting stills exists, as it has since 1754, and is located in Greensboro, Guilford County.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
Elizabeth-1136 and Unknown-219543 appear to represent the same person because: both the wife of Henry Lamb. Merge into Unknown-219543 since profile Elizabeth-1136 is an incorrect Wikitree designation.
