Biography
Sarah (Unknown) was born either about 1815 in North Carolina[1] or about 1813 in Georgia.[2]
In 1850,[1] Sarah White (age 35, born in North Carolina) was living in Telfair County, Georgia in the household of her husband, Dennis White (age 46, born in Columbia Co., Georgia), with her 5 White children, all born in Georgia (age, sex): i) John (16, M), ii) Elizabeth (15, S), iii) William (8, M), iv) Simon (6, M), & v) George (3, M). Dennis' occupation was a farmer.
On 19 Jun 1860,[2] Sarah White (age 47, born Georgia) was living in Liberty County, Florida in the household of her husband, Dennis White (age 50, born Georgia), and her White children, all born in Florida [sic] (age, sex): i) William (17, M), ii) Simeon (14, M), iii) George (12, M). Dennis' occupation was a farmer; he had personal estate valued at $330. [Note: the birth places of Dennis' sons in the 1860 census[2] are inconsistent with that recorded in the 1850 census.[1]]
Research Notes
Sarah (Unknown) White, Dennis White's 1st wife, may have been Sarah "Dodson". There is a genealogy of the Dodson's that should be further examined to ascertain the likelihood of this.[3] I've requested a copy of this book via inter-library loan.Hiestand-529 14:42, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
