Dorothy's birth date and place are unknown. Her parents and maiden name are also unknown.[1]
Birth date of "about 1645" is based on c. 1669 birth of eldest daughter Dorothy (North) Awbrey Gouldman Ransone profile.
Dorothy married twice.
Essex County court records show that on 7 November 1698, "Dorothy North of Ware Parish, Gloucester County, widow," purchased for £125 from John Hawkins, of Essex County, some "627 acres, 16 perches" (p 183).[1]
On 11 July 1706, an action of "trover [?] and Conversion" was brought by Daniel Henry & Dorothy, his wife, late Dorothy North, extrx. of last will & testament of Augustine North, decd., agst. Peter Ransone, falls ye writt not being lawfully executed" (Essex County Records Order Book 1703-8, Page 254)."[1]
Daniel died by 10 April 1708, when Dorothy petitioned the Essex County court for administration of her late husband's estate (p 184).[1]
10 March 1706/7, Daniel Henry and Dorothy his wife late Dorothy North, late of Gloucester County now of St. Ann's widow, to William Thompson of St. Ann's Parish. for 200 Sterling. 627 Acres and 16 perches in St. Ann's Parish bounded as by patent granted Thomas Hawkins 19 Feb 1662 and belonging to Daniel Henry and Dorothy his wife by a deed of feoffment 7 Nov 1698 made by John Hawkins only son and heir of Thomas Hawkins unto the said Dorthy North Widow.10 March 1706/7 Acknowledged by Daniel Henry and Dorothy his wife.[2]

Dorothy wrote her will on 19 Dec 1709 and it was probated on 10 Jan 1709/10 at Essex County, Colony of Virginia (p 187).[1]
The will of Mrs. Dorothy Henry of St. Ann's Parish, Essex County, mentions "my three granddaughters ... Elizabeth Gouldman, Mary Leftwich, Dorothy Avery." Also mentions "my two daughters Rose Curtis and Dorothy Ransome."
