The 1870 census shows a Melissa Wilson of the correct age living in Christiansville with a Thomas Wilson and a daughter Eliza J. Wilson. If that J. stands for Jane, it could be the older daughter from the 1880 census.
And there's a marriage record for Charles Henry Wilson (born about 1872) listing his parents as Thomas Wilson and Malissa Farrar. This would reinforce that perhaps the kids were known by their middle names and so listed in the 1880 census. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QG12-NLDF
There's also a birth record for a Susan Wilson in 1874 with parents Thomas and Melissa: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VR58-MM3
