Jemime was born about 1680. Jemime Unknown ...

Cautionary Note: Did Israel Hamlin have two wives ?

The existing documents seem to indicate Abigail [given as Israel's first wife] was still Israel Hamlin's wife, at his time of death, about 1729.

The only references to Jemime, as Israel's wife, are two baptisms in the church records ?

Jemime is possilby a nickname or middle name for Abigail Lombard ? Noted: Jemime is a given name found in the Lombard family. See Abigail's profile for details and the G2G below.

Israel was twice married; first to Abigail, probably a daughter of Joshua Lombard. She must have died about the year 1700, when for his second wife he married Jemima, whose surname is not recorded. By his first wife he had six children, first a child not named, then Thankful, Prudence, Israel, Joseph and Jemima. By his second wife he had two, Jacob and Anna. page 531

--Or-- Israel was married only once, since Israel Hamblin's estate was inventoried on 2 July 1729 after his death, and it was sworn to by "'Abigail Hamblin now Barlow administratrix to the estate of her late husband Israel Hamblen'". [Barnstable County Probate records, Vol. 3:651]
