In 1850 Charles Meador [Meders] was living in District 11, Jackson County, Tennessee. In his household are wife, Rachel, and children: James, John, Malissa, Elizabeth, Ardaminsa, Ardaleme, Franklin, and Margaret.^[1]

In 1870 Charles Meador [Meadows] was still living in District 11, Jackson County, Tennessee. In his household are wife, Rachel, and children: Astema and Frank M. Also in the household are Charles Harrison, age 11, and Elizabeth Allen, age 6.^[2]
