There is no genealogical proof that Rachel Inman was a child of Shadrack Inman and his wife, Mary Jane McPheeters which has been repeatedly alleged in error by researchers on Family Trees. The Rachel Inman above has been confused with another Rachel Inman born 1780 who married Truman Childon and a Robinson. This is not the same person as Rachel Income who married Charles McKinney and is buried with him in the McKinney cemetery.

Who were the parents of Rachel Inman McKinney remains and open question. There were many Inmans in Burke County circa 1775 but none who can be identifed as her parents.
