Benjamin married two sisters, first Frances, then Lovinia. [1]
First Source for Lovinia (to date) as married woman with children -[2]
Again, she appears as a married woman with husband Benjamin Long and several children. [3]
She was widowed by 1870 and was living with her children in Talbot, Maryland (Lavinia Long 45, Mary F Long, Lewis R Long 11, Calvin H Long 9).
[4]
In 1880 she is found with her children in Baltimore, Maryland. (Lavina Long 54, Robert S. Long 28, Mary F. Long 26, Lewis R. Long 21, Calvin Long 19). At this time she states that her parents were both from NJ. [5] She has taken in a boarder named Louis McLain, who I believe married her daughter Mary within a short while after the census was taken.
Lavinia was buried in the plot owned by the McLaine family, Louis and his wife Mary, Lovinia's daughter (awaiting documentation). It does not appear that Lavinia ever had a headstone.
