Born in Virginia on 15 Oct 1790, Rebecca married Samuel Mansell in 1809 in Fairfield County, South Carolina.
Not much is know about her family at this point, although this researcher believes she's related to the Martin family residing nearby the Mansell family in Fairfield County at the time of their marriage.
What little is known about her is thanks to the wife of her grandson, Cordelia Hughes Mansell, and the efforts of her 2nd great-granddaughter, Jeanne Mansell Humpf, author of a self-published work entitled "Mansell History", in which Jeanne conveyed a lot of information gleaned from hours of interviewing Cordelia and many other family members.
