Jane (Unknown) Barcus is a part of US Black heritage.

Jane was born about 1828 in New Jersey.

She was the wife and widow of Civil War veteran Ezekiel L. Barcus of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the first regiment in the United States made up entirely of enlisted men of color. Her husband died of dysentery in South Carolina in 1863.
