Her Hocąk name given in the censuses is MahSetchaZhgaWinKah, which is a rather ill-formed phonetic breakdown.

"The Lowes were first listed on the census as Lyons, taking the name of a farmer they had worked for. The last name was later changed to Lowe." (Jones, et alia)

Relatives

In the 1905 Wisconsin State census, she is identified as the mother-in-law of John Stacy, the husband of Martha. This implies that she is the mother of Martha. Since Martha is the sister of King of Thunder, it also follows that Mary is his mother as well. In the 1905 Indian census, she is recorded as the mother of George Lyon (AhHaZheeKah). This would make her Mrs. Lyon.
