"That he [Joseph Paquette] is the half brother of the late Pier Paquette, so long and so advantageously known as the warm & devoted friend to the Government of the United States and the Interpreter for the lndians." (Waggoner, 54a)

The mother of Pierre Paquette was different from the mother of Joseph Paquette inasmuch as they were half-brothers sharing a surname. (Waggoner, 54a)
