Unwound a stuck merge, but I dunno whether he actually existed or whether he was merged away on purpose.

(To merge him away again, disconnect his wife and son first)

Apparently, before John Updyke-2 got merged into his son Daniel Updyke-1, he was the son of Opdyck-1 and UNKNOWN-4073. But that connection doesn't seem to be supported by the source

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Based on the narrative on Sarah Brown's profile, this looks like a potential match with Updike-20
I was looking for support for maiden name of his second wife, now posted to Brown-536, which included sources/info that may be of help with this profile.

hi! I just posted a comment on Updyke-26 recommending that Updyke be the LNAB that's kept (there is no existing profile for him as Opdyke, and I wouldn't recommend creating one with that spelling for him).

In other words, please complete the merge with Updyke-26, with Updike-76 going into Updyke-26. Thanks!

no Opdyke profile exists for this person. References I found show 1718 birth (which the Updike profile has). Recommend completing the merge into this profile (Updike-76 into Updyke-26, keeping Updyke-26).

most info seems to come from The Op Dyck genealogy, containing the Opdyck--Opdycke--Updyke--Updike American descendents of the Wesel and Holland families - see p 202 for info on this John's father & him

Updike-76 and Updyke-26 appear to represent the same person because: these duplicate profiles should be merged. I believe the progression of the name makes Updyke the better choice (I'll look for an Opdyke, which might be better still).
