Frances Upshaw ... [2]

In some places her parents are listed as Thomas and Sarah (Browne) Upshaw and in others with the last name of Munday. In all the records I have found for her, she is listed as Upshaw.

Upshaw-28 and Upshaw-16 appear to represent the same person because: Frances Florence Upshaw married Henry Forrest Crittenden, who died in 1717. Within a year Frances married Henry Tandy III and had more children.

Henry, a son of Henry Jr lived in Essex on the land of his grandfathter. He was born about 1686, and very shortly after her husbands death in 1716, married Frances, widow of Henry Crittenden. Henry and Frances Crittenden had sever children, the youngest of whom came of age or married in 1729 for on May 10, 1729, Henry & Frances Tandy producted the account of their administration of Henry Crittenden's estate (Willil Book 4 page 28 Essex Records). Henry Tandy is mentioned frequently in Essex Records as an overseer of roads , constable (Order Book 1723-1725 page 326). executor & administrator for several persons and as a "tonbacco teller". He died in 1741 and his will dated Sept 2, 1741 probated Oct 20, 1741 (Essex Record Will Book 6 page 343) mentions four children, Ann, Waller, Martha, Silvanus and Frances, exors son Silvanus Tandy and son in law Edward Waller. The daughter Ann was the second wife of Edward Walller, son of Charles Wallter, formerly of Petsoe Parish, Gloucester, who had bout land in Essex in 1703 ( Deed and Will 11 page 43).
