Rebecca was born in Georgia in 1800 to Adkins Upshaw and Charity A Patton. Her father died the month before she was born. By 1806, her mother's family moved to Tennessee, the year and place her grandfather died. She spent the rest of her life in that state. She married around age 18 and passed away in 1877 at 76 years old.
