Biography
Ann Upstone was christened on 8 Oct 1837 in Barcheston cum Willington, Warwickshire, England. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Upstone.[1]
Richard Sutton and Ann Upstone married on 28 Nov 1865 in Barcheston, Warwickshire, England.[2] They had six children. They lived at Darlingscott, Warwickshire and later Tredington, Warwickshire.
Ann's husband Richard died in 1907 in Shipston on Stour.
Ann died in 1916 in Shipston on Stour.[3]
Research Notes
Richard and Ann had six children: Ellen Sutton (1866), Enoch Sutton (1868), Amos Sutton (1870), Harriet Sutton (1872), Rose Ann Sutton (1875), Mary Matilda Sutton (1877). There are civil birth registration records for these six children with mother's maiden name Upstone and no others in the time period. Unfortunately the 1881 census was badly written and the entry for Amos looks like Thos and the entry for Harriet looks like Sharlot. Several online family trees include children named Thomas and Charlotte based on the 1881 census even though there are no other source records to support existence of children with those names in this family.
