This is the John Upton that immigrated to America through New Orleans, LA. Believed to have been born in England or possibly Ireland. Is said to be buried in Wilkes Co. GA., but not proven. There were 4 Upton's that came to America together, John, George, Zachariah and Thomas Upton, These 4 have been considered as possibly brothers but any kinship has not been proven as far as I know. George Upton line also will be found as "Uptain" in many records. George Upton signed name both as Upton and Uptain.
