Biography
Henry was born in Barkston Ash, Yorkshire in 1833, & baptised Henry Upton, 6 January 1833 Sherburn in Elmet, Yorkshire the son of William Upton & Ann. [1]
The marriage of Henry Upton & Rachel Gaukrogers was conducted on 10 August 1853, Leeds, St. Peter, Yorkshire. Father of bride & groom recorded as Samuel Guakrogers & William Upton. [2] [3]
With wife & children in 1861 living in Bell Street, Leeds, Yorkshire. He worked as a cordwainer. [4]
Living in Grimsby Street, Leeds, Yorkshire in 1871 with wife Rachel & children. He worked as a shoemaker. [5]
A widower & boot riveter in 1901 living in Ketch Street, Burmantofts, Leeds, Yorkshire. [6]
He died in 1907 [7] & buried on 15 July 1907, Leeds, Beckett Street Cemetery, Yorkshire. [8]
