CONT CONT A native of Hancock county, she was born Aub. [sic] 6, 1864, a daughter of John and Margaret (Schmidtnachel) Shontlemire. CONT CONT She was married to Ernest E. Urban on Jan. 1, 1884 and he died Jan. 2, 1938. CONT CONT Surviving are children, Oren J., Ranger, Tex; Allen E., Delaware; Era E., Bluffton; Mrs. Zoe M. Dorney, Ann Arbor, Mich.; and L. L. Urban, 1019 Park street. Two children, Ray and Clair, preceded in death. CONT CONT Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Nelson and Mrs. Nancy Robertson, 2610 North Main street. Four sisters, three brothers and three half-brothers preceded. There are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. CONT CONT Mrs. Urban attended the Bethesda Evangelical church. CONT CONT The body was taken to the Coldren funeral home where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Earl Liest of Mt. Cory officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.

Urban, 83, Succumbs Sunday Morning Following Long Illness CONT CONT Ernest Ellsworth Urban, 83-year-old Union township farmer, died at his residence at 3:40 o’clock Sunday morning following an illness of four months from carcinoma. CONT CONT Mr. Urban was born in Marion township, Oct. 10, 1854, the son of Andrew and Barbara (Hane) Urban, and had lived his entire life in Hancock county. CONT CONT He was married Jan. 1, 1884, to Polena Shontlemire, who survives along with six of their seven children. They are Clair, Lawrence and Era Urban of Union township; Allen Urban of Orange township; Jack Urban, of Ranger, Tex., and Mrs. Zoa Dorney of Arlington. Another son, Ray, died April 18, 1935. CONT CONT Mr. Urban also is survived by the following brothers: John, Findlay; Frank, Ludington, Mich.; William, Bowling Green; Lewis, California; Martin, Burkburnett, Tex., and Andy, Abilene, Tex. Eight grandchildren and one great granchild are also living. CONT CONT The deceased had been a member of the Evangelical church since 1894. CONT CONT Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Coldren funeral home with Rev. A. E. McVey, pastor of the Mt. Cory Evangelical church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery. CONT CONT The body was taken to Coldren’s and will be returned to the residence this morning.
