Obituary

Reva June Organ passed away peacefully at her home on July 13, 2011. Services will be held on Saturday July 23 at 10 am at The United Methodist Church in Colfax Washington. Graveside services will follow at the Colfax cemetery. Reva was born on June 24, 1932 in Wenatchee, WA to E. Vance and Lana Urness. She moved to Colfax as a small child and lived there until 2006 when she moved to Caldwell, ID to be near her son David Organ. She attended Colfax schools and graduated as salutatorian in 1950. Reva married her high school sweetheart Lewis Dean Organ in the fall of 1950. Reva worked for various firms including Hickman & Faris before working for Whitman County in the Assessor Office, Prosecuting Attorney Office and finally retiring from the Department of Public Works in 1994 after over 30 years of public service. She was well known for her professional high standard of work ethics and high quality of service to the public. Reva’s spare time was spent working in her flower garden, enjoying her family, and eventually enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to travel and made several trips to Alaska to visit her sons. She and Lewis also traveled to England, Germany, Canada and Norway to visit friends and family. After retirement they spent the winters at Lake Havasu, AZ in their motor home until Lewis’ death in 1997. She continued to enjoy her motor home until purchasing a home in Lake Havasu City. Reva is survived by sisters Thoral Sinkbeil of Colfax, WA and Janet Cook of Lake Havasu City, AZ children David and Kathy Organ of Caldwell, ID, Glenn and Bonnie Organ of Olalla WA, Janice Organ of Kendrick, ID, and Keith Organ of Kodiak, AK, and grandchildren Kyle (Stephanie), Wendy (Theron), Kevin (Emily), Rachel, Kelly, Katy, Brian, Rosalind and Jake, and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Reva was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Organ, brothers John Urness, Phillip Urness, and her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colfax Ambulance Fund P.O.
