Biography

Isobel "Belle" Urquhart was born on 28 November 1898 in Whangarei, New Zealand[1]. She was the daughter of Duncan Urquhart and Sarah Mort. Her father was an Orchardist.

Belle was 30 years of age when she married William Alexander Land (the son of Edmund Land and Rosina Alexander) on 3 June 1930 in Auckland, New Zealand[2].

They remained childless.

In the 1931 New Zealand Electoral Rolls (1853-2010), Isabelle Land was recorded living at Manawaru, Te Aroha, married.

Belle and her husband later lived at 9 Grace Street in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty.

By 1966, Isobel Land was recorded living at 31 Monmouth Street in Tauranga Central.

She was cremated on 25 October 1977 at Tauranga and Pyes Pa Crematorium, Tauranga, Bay of Plenty[3][4].

Urquhart-1592 and Urquhart-727 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same lady

Belle was a well spoken, very fashionable lady and she and Billie were avid race goers. They would often visit my parents place in Takapuna when in Auckland to go to the races and would sometimes take my mother with them.

Belles father Duncan was first cousin to my great grandfather Donald Alexander Urquhart
