Biography

When John Usher and his twin sister Jane were born in 1788 in Haltwhistle, Northumberland, their father, Matthew, was 46, and their mother, Jane, was 29. He married Hannah Pickering on 3 May 1818[1] in his hometown. They had nine children in 15 years. He died on 27 June 1873 in Beltingham, Northumberland, having lived a long life of 85 years.
