John Ussher was born in 1524, the son of Christopher Ussher and Alison FitzWilliam.

He was Mayor of Dublin in 1561, Collector of Customs of the Port of Dublin in 1564, and a Captain of the Dublin contingent of horse, foot and archers during the expedition against the Scots of Antrim in 1557. He married Ales Newman circa 1560 and died circa 1590.

John Ussher died in or before 1590. [1][2]

John Ussher died in 1600 and was succeeded by his son Sir William Ussher. [3]
