Beverley Ussher was born circa 1618. He was the son of Arthur Ussher and Judith Newcomen.

He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Duke of Ormond's Guards.

He married, firstly, Joan Smyth, daughter of Sir Percy Smyth and Isabella Ussher, on 28 February 1621.
