Hans was born in Hamburg 1933[1]. He worked for Bayer in Mexico and then El Salvador where he spent most of his adult life as a prominent member of the local German community. His favorite pastime was formula V car racing where he was National Champion in 1974[2]. He was also a recreational soccer player and supporter of a local club in La Libertad where a 3000 seat stadium in Guazapa is named in his honor[3]. He was shot and died in 1995 in El Salvador. [4]
