He married Nancy Ann Cooley on 14 June 1842 in Montgomery Co., Indiana.

Sadly, Mahala, Surilda, and Mary all died during an epidemic in 1862.

Death Vincent Utterback
Vincent Utterback, aged about eighty-four years, died last Friday at his home near Elmdale. The funeral occurred Sunday morning at ten o'clock. Mr. Utterback was a pioneer resident of the county and leaves a wife and several grown children.
