Charles was born in 1818. He was the son of James Utting and Anne Waller. Charles was christened on July 11, 1818 in All Saints, South Lynn. Charles was an author, poet, journalist, reporter, and bookseller. He emigrated to Capetown, South Africa around 1863.[1] He passed away in 1898.
