Biography

Relda (Utz) Warner has German Roots.
Relda (Utz) Warner was a Pennsylvanian.

Relda, daughter of George Milton Utz and Lillie Alverta Wentz,[1] was born 16 September 1897 in West Manheim Township, York County, Pennsylvania.[1][2][3]

Three-year-old Relda remained in West Manheim Township in 1900 with her parents George M. (age 27, tenant farmer) and Lillie A. Utz (27, mother of two, both living), and sister Mamie Ruth (5), as well as a servant named Edith Folmer (13).[2]

By 1910, the household on Nace's Mill Road in West Manheim Township encompassed George M. (age 36, tenant farmer), Lilly A. (37, mother of four, all living), Mamie R. (15), Relda M. (12), Raymond R. C. (7) and Lester George Milton Utz (1).[4]

On 26 October 1919 in Carroll County, Maryland,[5] she married Maurice Henry Warner, son of John George Washinton Warner and Phoebe Arsula Houck.[6] The had at least two sons before her untimely death:

Relda M. (22) and her groom Maurice H. Warner (22, working out) in 1920 in the Black Rock Road home in West Manheim Township with her parents George M. (46, tenant farmer) and Lillie A. (46), and sibling Raymond R. (16), Lester M. (11) and Mildred M. Utz (6).[13]

By 1930 Maurice H. (age 32, farmer) and Relda Warner (32) owned their own house and farm in West Manheim Township, where they resided with their son Stewart (9).[5]

Relda died 31 May 1934 in West Manheim Township and was buried at Saint David's Church Cemetery in Hanover, York County.[3] She may have died from complications of childbirth as the 1940 census shows her husband with a five-year-old son.[14]
