"Patrick Vail died yesterday morning at his home in South Glastonbury after a short illness. He was a Civil War veteran, having served three years in the Thirteenth Connecticut Regiment." [1]
He leaves four sons, P. J. Vail of South Glastonbury, Edward Vail of Wapping, John Vail of Melrose and James Vail of Maine; two daughters, Mrs. Trudeau of West Hartford and Mrs. O'Brien of South Glastonbury; three brothers, Maurice Vail of Little Falls, N.Y., Michael Vail of South Glastonbury and Bartholomew Vail of Manchester; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Dooley of New Bedford, Mass., and Mrs. Robinson of Rockville.
The funeral will be held at his home tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, with a requiem high mass at St. Augustine's Church at 9:30 o'clock. The burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, South Glastonbury.
