Biography
She was born on April 14, 1917 in Hocking County, a daughter of the late James and Mabel (Wolfe) VanCuren. She was a member of Cross Pointe Free Will Baptist Church and was a 13 year 4H member; the club continued to meet for years until days before the leader's 100th birthday.
She is survived by her sons, John (Barbara) Soliday of Miami, FL, Larry (Karen) Soliday of Gilbert, AZ, Paul (Cherie) Soliday of Sidney, OH, Tom (Pat) Soliday of Lancaster and Tim (Sandy) Soliday of Amanda; daughters, Cathy (Gary) Washburn of Upper Sandusky, OH and Marianne Watkins of Lancaster; 19 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, E. Chase Soliday in 1997; a son, Philip Soliday; a daughter, Mary Beth Soliday; two brothers, Lawrence VanCuren and Carl VanCuren; a sister, Clarabelle VanCuren; a son-in-law, Jim Watkins and a grandson, John Todd Soliday.
She passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Lancaster, Ohio.
