Hi Robert,

I'm the Ranger on duty and noticed that you created a couple of pre-1700 profiles with a note that you would be adding sources within a couple of days.

The Pre-1700 Quiz was recently updated to give a better description of the types of sources WikiTree is looking for. Would you please review the quiz, as well as this very handy list of sources which are considered "not quite good enough", before you add any more pre-1700 profiles?

Thank you,

Debi ~ WikiTree Ranger on Duty

Welcome to the 1776 Project (, a subproject of the Military and War Project:

There are category links to add to your ancestor's profiles and research links to learn more about your family. The Project is a good way to consolidate the WikiTree ancestors with historic connections to the years of 1773 (Boston Tea Party) to 1789 (ratification of the U.S. Constitution.) All patriot, loyalist, Hessians, French, Native Americans or any other profiles with a connection to these years should be linked to an appropriate category in the Project.

If you haven’t already, please set your preferences for your Tags Followed to include 1776 Project and any other tag terms that you wish to follow:

Some categories have a template (SAR) to add at the top of a biography. If not, add a category link by putting the category name such as
Robert VanDyne participated in the American Revolution
for those who bore arms in the Revolution and
Robert VanDyne served during the American Revolution

Thanks for the note on Westfall-60, and you're welcome to add information. Please also add your sources.

The February 1729 date is not incompatible with the posted 1728 date - it's likely the year was in a modern record as 1728/29. WikiTree uses the "new" year (1729). See this page for more.

Hi Robert, I already unhooked your Susannah and Mary McIntosh from Bazel. Feel free to create a new profile for William. And I'll create a new profile for Bazel's daughter Susannah.

Do you have sources that confirm Bazel and William are brothers? I know many places say that Charles and Mary are their parents but I haven't been able to find where that information comes from.

Hi Robert

Thank you for your message about Martha/Jane Moore.

Without sources being added to a profile, it is impossible to tell who who parents really were or who she was married to. Please add whatever you have, especially as it relates to who her parents may be. Note: there is already a Jane listed as a child of Thomas Moore, and the bio indicates that it is doubtful she is truly his daughter. See Moore-3142.

Hello again, Robert,

Thank you for your contributions to WikiTree.

I see that you added Martha Moore today, yet didn't include any sources.

Would you please go back in to her profile and add the appropriate sources? Her descendants and others on WikiTree will appreciate the information.

Thank you, Sharon - WikiTree Ranger

Hi Robert,

Thank you for helping grown our collective WikiTree family tree.

Please remember to add sources when you add or edit profiles - especially for people born before 1700. Since these people have so many descendants who will be interested, it is vital to list the sources. I was looking at John and Margaret Malcom when I noticed the missing sources.

Also, when you use the status indicator of "certain" (used on John for his birth date), it is even more important to show sources so that people can see the research for this themselves.

Thank you, Sharon - WikiTree Ranger

Rob, the Sarah Jane Vandyne who was born 5 February 1865 to Sylvanus Vandyne married Jehu Ryan (Rine in their marriage record) in Wetzel County in 1894. According to their marriage record, Robert Long married Clara J. Vandyne in 1888 in Wetzel County. The marriage took place at the residence of Sylvanus Vandyne. I cannot place Clara. Could this be a first marriage for Sarah? However, when she married Jehu Ryan, she used the name "Vandine," not Long.

Sorry Robert, no I apparently screwed up with my typing. Lol. Harriet is my great, great great Grandmother. Harriet had a daughter Helen Warren, who married Ernest Dennison. They had a daughter Thelma Dennison who married Raymond Jacobs and their son Richard is my father.
