DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Anonymous by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Anonymous:

Here are a few handy links:
  1. Getting Started
  2. Adding to WikiTree.
  3. Pre-1700 Quiz (self-certifying in order to understand better how to de pre-1700 genealogical work on WikiTree)
  4. What are duplicates? Why should and how can they be avoided?

Perhaps you would like to join the South African Roots Project ?

Hi Erina, welcome to WikiTree! I have seen that you have found some duplicate profiles and proposed merges. Thanks! I have pre-merge edited the bio of Peens-452 (which will automatically revert to the lowest clear number Peens-3 during that merge), so that you can clear the bio of the Peens-3 and use the biography of Peens-452 in stead during the merge. Care should be taken that the parents and children are also selected (because the lower number is not open for editing yet, I could not add the parents manually). This person must be related to 'our' Peens-4 (I love uploading old family photographs) ...

Hi!

You have been a member about a week. How is it going so far? Was the first page of the How-Tos helpful or did it leave you with questions? It has confused the best of us at times!

Did you know that if you click the green tags on your profile page, you can see if other members are following that tag. Add your interests, surnames, or locations to your profile. The more tags you add the more links to community & research options.

Any problems or queries just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

Kimberly ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile, links will work from there.

Welcome Catherina!

I am happy to welcome you as a full member to the WikiTree community! To help save you time, energy and frustration, please start with our New Member How-To pages.

Click the green Tag on your profile page, you'll see others following the same things you are researching. The more Tags you add that include locations, periods of history or other genealogical interests, the more links to the community research options.

Please ask if you have any questions as I am always happy to help!

Cindy ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
