  1. Some family trees across the Internet call Desiderius "Didier of Nassau," but citations are unclear. Primary sources (written in Latin) regarding San Salvatore church clearly name him as Desiderius or Desiderio.[1] Also note that Desiderius is not from the House of Nassau, which dates from a later time period.[2]
  2. Hodgkin (1895), claims that Desiderius deposed Luitprand, but the chronology is wrong.[3] Paul the Deacon (2011), gets it right ... stating that it was Ratchis, who took the throne for a second time, after his brother, Aisulf died.[4][5]

Van Lombardije-3 and Di Lombardia-3 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, birth, death dates, and spouses. One name is Italian, the other is German/Flemish? Thanks.
