Biography
Daniel van Overbeke was born on the 3rd March 1727 in Amsterdam.
He was sent on an official mission by the Dutch government to Bengal, where he remained and married Theodora, daughter of Andreas Franciscus Immens, a barrister and Fiscaal of Chinsurah, in Bengal, by his wife Cornelias de Mauregnault, descended from Joan de Mauregnault, a knight of the Golden Fleece and Colonel of Spanish Infantry under Ferdinand of Toledo, Duke of Alva, 1567.

Hierdie wapens het betrekking op die egpaar Daniel Overbeek, = Amsterdam 5.3.1727, omstr. 1763 getroud met Theodora Petronella Immens. d.v. adv.Andreas Franciscus lmmens, Koopman en Fiskaal v.d.H. 0. I. K. te HoughIy en Cornelia Maria de Mauregnault. Daniel vertrek in diens van die H.O. I. K. na Bengale. word Onderkoopman 22.8.1752. Kassier te Kassima Basar 8.7.1763, Pakhuismeester 3.7.1767 en vervolgens Boekhouer en Ordinaris Gekommitteerde te Houghly. HuIle is die stamouers van die Overbeeks in ons land wat alma1 stam van hul seun Gerard Ewout Overbeek."[1]
