Jochem was baptized on November 4, 1646 in the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam, New Netherland, recorded as the child of Lambert van Valckenburg.[1][2]
He married Eva Vroman. There is no known record of their marriage, which likely took place in the vicinity of what is now Albany, New York. Albany church records from earlier than 1683 were lost. Jochem and Eva had ten known children.
After Eva died, Jochem married the widow Jannetie Mingaal in 1713.
Note of children birthdays are baptists days. Jochem was at Kinderhook, NY in 1667 and Schenectady in 1697, and Renssalerwyck, NY in 1699 and Kinderhook again in 1702. He was very active in early Dutch communities, a deputy sheriff in 1676, A farmer, school teacher in Kinderhook in 1702

Van Valckenburg is the name recorded for Jochem's father at his baptism. Capitalization of the preposition "van" is incorrect and has been corrected per project naming conventions. Quackenbush-118 06:11, 10 January 2017 (EST)

↑ A note on page 19 of The Van Valkenburg Family in America (1976) states that "None of the children of Jochem and Eva Vroman were baptised until 7/4/1684 when the first five boys were baptised in a multiple ceremony" and their names "have been recorded herein in the order generally shown in the early books of reference, even though it is probably not the proper order of birth." The note states that the baptisms are in the Albany church records, but may have been performed by clergymen touring the surrounding countryside and baptising children as they went from house to house. However, these five sons do not appear in the Albany church baptism records from 1684 (link to electronic transcript).

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jochum by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jochum:

I can't find any evidence (other than 20+ nearly identical, but unsourced, entries in the Ancestral File) for a Marytje, daughter of Jochem Lambertsz and Eva Vrooman, born or baptized in 1697. There is no such person mentioned on the http://www.navvf.org/ website, and no baptism record in Albany.
Accordingly, I propose to repurpose the Van Valkenburg-55 profile to represent Marytie Valkenburgh, daughter of Johannes Van Valkenburg, bp. 27 May 1722 Albany Ref Ch (wit: Ysack and Alida Fonda). Any objections?
Van Valkenburg-79 and Van Valkenburgh-6 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks!
Van Valkenburg-79 and Van Valkenburg-305 are not ready to be merged because: Slightly conflcting father profiles needs sorting first. Contact Steven Mix.
VanValkenburg-9 and Van Valkenburgh-6 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. These matches have been reviewed by the New Netherland Settlers Merge Approval System, and the "Green" destination NNS profile is protected as PPP, and the "Merge Pending" profile is now ready and able to be merged into it. I saved the data to the bios. We will need to adjust for the patornym Lambertse. Thanks!
