Biography

Nora Van Valkenburg was born on 8 June 1897[1] at New York, USA. She appeared on the census of 20 June 1900 in the household of her parents, Allen Abrm. Van Valkenburg and Nettie Caroline (Longendyke) Van Valkenburg,[2] at Denning, Ulster Co., New York.[3] She appeared on the census of 26 April 1910 in the household of her parents at Middletown, Delaware County, New York. [4]

She married Harley W. Baxter, son of Elbert Marvin Baxter and Ola (Hood) Baxter, on 28 Oct. 1916 at Downsville, Delaware County, New York, USA. She and Harley W. Baxter filed a marriage license on 1 Nov. 1916 at Delaware County, New York. [2]

She and Harley appeared on the census of 9 Jan. 1920 at Colchester, Delaware County, New York.[5] She and Harley appeared on the census of 4 April 1930 at Colchester, Delaware County, New York.[6] She and Harley appeared on the census of 8 April 1940 at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.[7]

She was in attendance when Marshall Forrest was the host of the Baxter Family Reunion held at on 19 Aug. 1951 near Coventry, New York. She was in attendance when Fayette L. Smith and Sara E. (Forrest) Smith were were hosts of the eighth annual reunion of the descendants of Nathan Baxter Jr. and his wife Anna Dodge, held at their home on 21 August 1955 at Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York. She was in attendance when Kenneth Richard Tweedie and Marion Joan Schaefer were hosts of the 9th Annual Baxter Family Reunion held at their home on 19 Aug. 1956 at Roscoe, Sullivan Co., New York. She was in attendance when Henry S. Schaefer and Ethel M. Baxter were were hosts of Tenth annual reunion of the descendants of Nathan Baxter Jr. and his wife Anna Dodge, held at their home on 18 Aug 1957 at East Branch, Delaware County, New York.

Harley and Nora did not have any children.[8]

Nora died on 18 April 1980,[1] probably in New York and was buried at Gregorytown Cemetery, Colchester, Delaware County, New York.[9]
