Jannetie (Jannetje) was baptized 25 June 1682 in the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston (Ulster County), New York. Her parents were Gerrit Aartze and Clara Pels. Witnesses to her baptism were Jannetie Simons and Simon Pels.[1]

Eight children are recorded from their marriage:[3]
Gerrit n1, baptized at Kingston on 25 January 1702;[4] married Maria Van Alen
Jan, baptized at Kingston 6 February 1704;[5] married Maria Kip
Jannetie was mentioned in her father's will of 1715. [11]
Jannetje died after 1723 [12] and before 7 April 1726 when Barent, described as her widower, married Margriet Legg.[13][14]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jannetje by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Gerritse-22 and Van Wagenen-103 are not ready to be merged because: Before merging, we need to identify the appropriate LNAB and get it project-protected. I believe that Gerritse is the appropriate LNAB because her baptism record shows that her parents were using patronymic names, so she would have had a patronymic name at birth. Later records record her name as van Wagenen, so that is probably her Current Last Name. Dutch women of that era generally didn't use their husband's names.
Gerritse-22 and Van Wagenen-103 appear to represent the same person because: These aren't ready, but need to be straightened out. I don't have information that Gerritse was her maiden name.
