Biography

Lela was born in 1872. She was the daughter of James Van Winkle and Elizabeth Davis and the sister of Sallie Ann, John, Lewis, Serena, Martha Ellen, Cassius, Alonzo, Burritt, and Stanley. Her father was a farmer and also a teacher in Berea, Kentucky. Lela did not marry. She passed away in 1919.
