Van der Merwe-5159 and Van der Merwe-1213 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, baptism record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSV8-W947-7?i=390
Hi, I'm not sure but this could be the the Elsie van der Merwe that is married to Johannes Smit?

If I'm reading these documents correctly, the Elsie van der Merwe married to Johannes Smit, see Roelof van der Merwe's Inventory MOOC8/23.26 (http://databases.tanap.net/mooc/main_article.cfm?id=MOOC8%2F23%2E26...) where he lists David van der Merwe & Hendrina Hensel's daughter (#6) as Elsje van der Merwe married to Jan Smit.

Another reason is the baptism of Hendrina Sophia Smith (baptism:https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-DZN4-4W7?cc=1478678&am...)

I'm not sure & would like someone else's opinion, thanks.

Kind regards, Christelle Joubert

Hi Christelle

The following is listed in the SAG register :

So, yes it does look like she's the wife of Johannes Smith and it seems to me that Hendrina Sophia is their daughter.

Andre

Thanks André

Does the SAG register mention anything about Elsje van der Merwe (Born 1719 to Hendrik Willem van der Merwe & Catharina Cloete) that's also married to a Johannes Smit?

I'm having difficulty finding out which set of Johannes Smit & Elsje van der Merwe is the parents of Joh(anna) Catharina Smit(h), baptized 16 April 1758 (baptism: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-DZN4-WQ4?cc=1478678&wc=M6GW-8NP). Married to Cornelis Rudolphus Jansen.

Kind regards, Christelle Joubert
