Mr. Vance farmed with his father in Drew, MS at Sandy Bayou Farm. He was an educator in Greenville Public Schools from 1968 – 1983. He also worked at Southern Fasteners until 2001. Mr. Vance was preceded in death by his parents, Lexie L. and Bessie R. Vance, formerly of Drew. Survivors include his wife, Ruby M. Vance of Greenville; a daughter, Vicki V. Glassco (Ed); a son, Lexie L. Vance II (Caron) of Tallahassee, FL; 2 sisters, Norma V. Cooper (James Donald) of Boyle, MS and Dorothy W. Fiore of Grand Prairie, TX; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Glassco of Greenville, Lexie L.
