• The Nosorigines source cited above gives a birth date of 11 Dec 1788 for Joseph Vandal. The date in this profile is based on the Library and Archives Canada “Census of Canada, 1871” source which gives Joseph's age as 65 in 1871. There is no way to be certain that the Joseph in this source is the same Joseph who married Marguerite Forcier in 1829 but both a Joseph and Marguerite Vandalle are living with Prospere Vandalle who was a son of the Joseph and Marguerite married in 1829. He is the son of Jean Vandal and Marie St Martin according to his marriage source.
