Samuel Davis Vandal was born on October 14, 1826 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia to Joel Vandal.


Samuel Davis Vandal married Sarah Ann Puckett Sep 7 1850 in Greenbrier, Virginia. [1] Sarah Ann PUCKETT was born on 4 Apr 1828. She died on 14 Jan 1907.

They bought 47 acres from Peter Bowyer and 142 acres from George and John Anderson, all on Lick Creek and lived in Summers Co. all their lives.

Samuel Davis VANDAL and Sarah Ann PUCKETT had the following children:

  1. Crawford Puckett VANDAL.
  2. Joel Worth VANDALL Jr..
  3. Samuel L. VANDAL was born on 4 Aug 1855 in Virginia. He died on 9 Feb 1860.
  4. John Henry VANDALL.
  5. Sarah F. VANDAL was born on 12 Jul 1860 in , Greenbrier, Virginia. She died on 7 Oct 1862.
  6. Mary Ellen VANDAL was born on 16 Apr 1863 in Virginia. She died about 1864.
  7. Amanda VANDAL was born on 8 Jan 1865 in West Virginia. She died on 8 Jan 1865 in West Virginia.
  8. Thomas Stewart (Big Tom) VANDAL.
