Joseph Vandandaigue Gadbois was born in 1769[1]
He first married Marie Madeleine Demers in 1793.
Joseph Vandandaigue married Marie Catherine Laliberté dite Colin on Jan. 26, 1795 in Saint-Eustache.[2]
An elderly relative of mine gave me some of the papers she had collected over the years of researching the Myers and Gadbois names. The only problem is she copied items from books but didn't copy the title page or tell where she found the book. So I have only a few pages that have the names that she was researching on. Whenever I have posted anything from them online, I get lots of lookup requests that I can't fulfill so I try not to post online anymore.
Anyway, because she copied the Gadbois/Vandendaigue names, I have a few entries that I can share with you. She wrote "Book: Repertoire D'Adwesasne (St Regis)" on the first page, which I assume is the name of the book. And she did most of her research at the LDS Church, so maybe they have the book and you can look for Roberts and Vachon there?.
Here's the entries I think may help you: 1
Page 41: Baptism of Jean-Baptiste Gadbois on 25 July 1816, son of Vendendaigue-Vandandaigle-Gadbois and Catherine LaLiberte-Collin. 1 209: Marriage of Francois Vachon-Robert and Catherine Vendandaigue-Gadbois on Jan 29 1827. Parents of Groom: Francois Vachon-Robert and Lisette Decosse. Parents of Bride: J. Vendendaigue-Vandandaigle-Gadbois and Catherine LaLiberte-Collin. 1 223: Burial of Jean-Baptiste Gadbois on 17 July 1825. Parents: Vendendaigue-Vandandaigle-Gadbois and Catherine LaLiberte-Collin. No spouse listed. 1 269: Burial of Joseph Gadbois on 17 July 1825. Parents: Vendendaigue-Vandandaigle-Gadbois and Catherine LaLiberte-Collin. No spouse listed. Not sure if they lost two sons on the same day, or if the same child was listed with two different names. 1
A few of my Gadbois/Myers from New York ended up in Iowa (Deleware Co) and Minnesota (Scott Co), so it may be worth looking there as well.
