She is the daughter of Evan C Vandermark and Agnes Larson.

DELPHOS — Margene Freund, 89, formerly of Delphos, died at 2 pm on December 24, 2108 at Worthington Christian Village in Columbus, Ohio.

Margene was born December 4, 1929 in Columbus Grove, Ohio to Agnes and William Van Demark.

Margene is survived by: children Jane Clevenger of Delphos, Timothy (Joyce) Freund of Columbus, Ohio, Elaine (Fred) Twigg of Rockford, Ohio, Christine (Rob) Fischer of Malvern, Ohio and Amy (Larry) Miller of Delphos, sister Betty (Dean) Imber of Columbus, Ohio and brother James Van Demark of Mesa, Arizona; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Margene was preceded in death by her husband Elmer "Bud" Freund and son-in-law Bruce Clevenger.

Margene loved working on the farm where she baled hay, fed the calves, and gardened. Her vegetable garden fed the family for many years. Margene worked hard on behalf of Habitat for Humanity in Delphos as well as volunteering often at the Delphos Thrift shop. Margene made two trips to Mississippi to clean up after Hurricane Katrina.

Memorial services will be held Saturday January 12, 2019, at 11 am. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Steve Nelson officiating. Margene donated her body to the Ohio State University body donation program. Visitors are welcome at 10am to talk with family. After the memorial service you are invited to join the family at the Delphos Microtel Inn, 480 Moxie Lane for a pop and ham sandwich.
