Biography

Effa Lillian Vandegrift was born on 24 March 1875 in Dunlap, Morris county, Kansas. She was the daughter of Evans Rutherford Vandegrift (1843-1908) and Martha Ellen Edwards (1846-1936).^[1]

Effa Vandergrift married Oliver James Keller on 10 March 1897 in Valentine, Cherry county, Nebraska.^[2] Effa and Oliver had five children; Evans Laverne (1899-1979), Helen (1901-1996), Velma Irene (1904-1934), Martha Elizabeth (1908-2011) and Charles Everett (1911-1977). After they were married, they lived in Cherry county.^[3] In about 1902 or 1903, they moved to Loup township in Merrick county, Nebraska.^[4][5][6][7]

She passed away on 16 April 1963 in Central City, Merrick county, Nebraska. Her body was laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.^[8]
